True Dime Lines and Overnight Lines:
BetJamaica offers customers options for MLB stretch run

The MLB playoffs are nearly six weeks away and the pennant chase is heating up. Both the wild card and divisional races are gearing up for an exciting conclusion to the 2006 regular season, with as many as 17 teams still fighting for an opportunity to play in the Fall Classic.

Derek Lowe of the Dodgers In the National League, the Mets are the clear-cut favorite to reach the World Series. However, the team to watch out for has been the red-hot Los Angeles Dodgers. Arguably the hottest team east of Oakland, Los Angeles has won 10 of its last 11 games and is currently 63-56 and occupying first place in the West. In the AL, the Yankees have found new life after acquiring Bobby Abreu and Corey Lidle right before the trade deadline. Since that move, New York has leapfrogged the Red Sox and currently holds a two-game lead in the East at 69-46.

As good as the divisional races have been, the wild card push has been exceptional. The AL wild card has had at least two teams within three games for basically the past month. The White Sox, Yankees, Red Sox and Twins have all spent time at the top and should be fixtures up until the end of September. Chicago, last year’s World Series Champion, has been up-and-down in the second half of the season, but still has managed to stay within striking distance of the Detroit Tigers.

It’s tough to say whether the wild card will come from either the Central or the East division. Any one of the previous four has an excellent shot to win the extra playoff spot. The only difference between the two divisions is that Detroit will be hard-pressed to relinquish its lead atop the division, making the White Sox and Twins’ chances of making the playoffs solely reliant on the wild card. Conversely, the Red Sox or Yankees can both take the AL East or fall back to the wild card. With all these scenarios in place, it makes for a whole lot of potential and a magnificent finish to the regular season.

The National League’s wild card has been a true roller-coaster in every sense of the word. The Cincinnati Reds have maintained their lead over the last six weeks and are also closing in on the Cardinals for the top spot in the Central. Out west, regardless of who wins that division, the remaining three teams all have a good chance to earn that extra playoff berth. As of Monday, four or less games separated six teams and the top three were linked by less then three. As much as any team would certainly be content with clinching the wild card in the NL, their fate in the playoffs would likely be in the hands of the New York Mets come the NLDS. With that in mind, and knowing how dangerous the Mets are this year, winning their respective divisions should be of paramount importance; especially those contenders sitting in the tightly contested Central and West.

With the MLB campaign heading into the stretch run, bettors should be intrigued with the multiple games that have so much on the line each night. In past years, teams would have clinched or established such big divisional or wild card leads that it would leave bettors in doubt as to whether or not to wager on a game with meaningless outcomes.

However, the rest of August and September could provide players with the opportunity to profit off games that have big-time effects on all of the major races. Specifically, with BetJamaica, customers are offered true dime lines (-110) and overnight lines for all the MLB games. Bettors now also have the ability to do rolling wagers that allow them to bet another game based on the outcome the previous night.
