MLB Division Leaders Forecasts
How the 2006 baseball playoffs will shake down

LA Dodgers September is right around the corner and the 2006 MLB playoff picture is just beginning to round into shape. As of August 23, four of the six divisions have its top team leading by more than three games. But how many of these division leaders will hold on to the top spot come October?

In the AL Central the Tigers have held strong for the majority of the season, as have the Mets in the NL East. The most noise this past month, though, has been the rise of three teams that have taken control of their respective divisions. The Yankees and Athletics in the AL, and the Dodgers in the NL, have vaulted up the ranks for what appear to be serious bids to lock down three of only eight playoff berths that are secured each year.

The Bronx Bombers just finished a rare and spectacular five-game sweep of the Red Sox at Fenway Park. All Oakland has done is virtually run the table through the month of August, compiling a 15-4 record thus far. And it is the Dodgers who have been baseball’s hottest club, only having lost four games since the final week in July while racking up 19 wins during their hot streak. The San Diego Padres are still within striking distance, just two games back of the Dodgers.

For bettors, the stretch run of the MLB season is the best time to wager. This is the time to back teams that have everything to play for, day in and day out. The next month of games will be even more important and BetJamaica is the place to find customer-friendly lines. BetJamaica is continuing to offer its players dime lines (-110) and overnight lines during the baseball season. Not only will bettors be able to place wagers the night before with overnight lines, but can they can also take advantage of rolling wagers that also allows them to bet on another game based on the outcome of a previous wager.

With the Yankees, Dodgers and A’s appearing to save their best baseball for the right time of the season, the other three divisions are up for grabs... well, actually only two because of the Mets’ vice-grip hold on the NL East. And there is a surprisingly dominating team located in Detroit, where the Tigers have taken the league by storm this season and amassed the most wins in the majors to sit 35 games above .500

That leaves the NL Central, where the St. Louis Cardinals are neck-and-neck with the Cincinnati Reds as August winds to a close.
