Rising Rockets to face Suns
Houston on hardcourt for back-to-back games
The stars will be out in full force on Wednesday night when two of the better teams looking to climb in the Western Conference standings hook up in the Valley of the Sun.
Yao Ming, Tracy McGrady and the rest of the Houston Rockets will be in Arizona to face Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire and the Phoenix Suns in a 9 pm ET start at the US Airways Center (ESPN). Odds for this game will be available at BetJamaica following the Rockets’ game Tuesday night at home, for which they are listed as 8.5-point favorites against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Houston has built a 9-4 (5-8 ATS) season slate so far, prior to Tuesday night, good for third in the Southwest division just behind powerhouses San Antonio and Dallas. The Rockets have dropped only one game at home so far, but are just 4-3 away from the Toyota Center. They have won three straight and eight of their last ten.
The Suns are beginning to rise after an awful start to the season. After dropping five of their first six games, the Suns have rebounded to get to 7-6 both SU and ATS heading into Wednesday night’s game. That translates to four straight victories and six of their last seven. Nash, the two-time reigning league MVP, leads the team averaging 20 points and 11 assists.
Phoenix has won four of the last five meetings with Houston and are 8-2 both SU and ATS versus the Rockets over their past 10 matchups.
